Martina Filjak appointed as the new Dubrovnik Summer Festival Artistic Director

On 25 April, Minister of Culture and Media, Nina Obuljen Koržinek, Ph.D. appointed one of the most esteemed Croatian musicians with an impressive international career, the pianist Martina Filjak, as the Artistic Director of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

She won a number of first prizes at prestigious international competitions, and in Croatia she was deservedly crowned with the most distinguished of awards. She regularly delights the international public and critics, collaborating in the last two decades with the world's most renowned orchestras and most eminent conductors on the most famous music stages from the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Konzerthaus in Berlin and Carnegie Hall in New York, to the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna.

Precisely thanks to her prolific, highly successful and dynamic career, numerous foreign and national collaborations as well as a modern, creative approach to music and stage performances, Martina Filjak proved to be a great candidate for artistic leadership of Croatia's oldest and most respected festival - the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

Martina Filjak will take over the duties as the artistic director at the end of August after the end of this year's edition of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, as it was announced on the official website of the Ministry of Culture.
