Horizon as our connection to infinity – new visual identity for the 75th anniversary of the Festival!

The Dubrovnik Summer Festival will mark its 75th anniversary with a new visual identity, designed by visual communication designer Zoran Đukić. His latest concept is Horizon, following the themes of previous editions of the Festival, New Citizens and Between the Stones.

Using the colour palette from previous years as a starting point, and re-illuminating that omnipresent, ephemeral phenomenon we often fail to notice, Đukić spreads the sunset horizon across all Festival visual materials, capturing the magic of that fleeting moment and extending it throughout the summer.

The horizon at sundown represents a visible, yet intangible, almost non-existent boundary between day and night, the sky and the sea, the known and the unknown, a point in time and space that signifies change. At that special moment, the sun colours everything in its crimson hues – the sea, the city and the people – solemnly announcing its departure and leaving the stage to the night, its mystique, its festivities, its lightness. At this moment, the performances at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival begin, says the designer.

Zoran Đukić is a visual communication designer with over 15 years of experience, specialising in creating thoughtful and innovative visual identities, publications and exhibitions for a wide range of clients in the cultural sector. He is the founder and head of the đkć d.o.o. studio, and he particularly enjoys designing visual identities and theatre posters.
