Preparations are underway for the theater premiere of Medea
The second theater premiere this summer is Medea by S. Stone and H. Müller, directed by the great European director Martin Kušej. This major co-production of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the Croatian National Theatre Varaždin and the Drama of the Slovenian National Theatre Maribor brings a powerful dramatic story to the impressive setting of the Lovrjenac Fortress. Kušej uses one of the most important female characters in ancient drama as a powerful tool for questioning the cruel mechanisms of the modern world – her “otherness”, marginalization and her position in the social and political context, especially in a time of increasing xenophobia. Preparations are in full swing – the set sketches are ready, and we will soon reveal the impressive cast.
