The 76th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, which will traditionally take place from 10th July to 25th August 2025, will bring unique cultural and artistic events performed by top domestic and international artists to numerous scenic and ambient locations in the city of Dubrovnik, and will carry the inspiring festival theme – women. It is precisely female characters, female themes and female performances that will mark the diverse and rich musical program presented by the highest quality artists of various genre perspectives from the Croatian and international scene.
For the first time in Croatia, and at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, one of the world's most prominent pianists of today, Khatia Buniatishvili, will be coming to Croatia. This talented Georgian pianist discovered the piano at the age of just three, had her first concert with the Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra at the age of six, and by the age of ten she was already performing abroad. Today, she performs in eminent concert halls around the world, and with her extraordinary performance, she also glorified a recent world-historical event - the ceremonial opening of the renovated Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris after a great fire, at which the excellent French violinist Renaud Capucon also performed, whom we had the opportunity to hear this summer at the Palace at the jubilee 75th Games. Her concert is scheduled for July 22nd, 2025 at 9:30 p.m. in the atrium of the Rector's Palace.
The musical program at the Rector's Palace will be enriched by the exceptional Sonya Yoncheva, who is considered one of the best sopranos of today. After we enjoyed her nightingale-like voice at the spectacular Opera Gala concert this summer, she is preparing something special and very rare for us next year - her recital at the Rector's Palace. Namely, Sonya Yoncheva only holds such intimate concerts in Vienna and Berlin, and for the first time in Croatia, you can listen to such a concert next summer in Dubrovnik! Sonya will be accompanied in the atrium of the Rector's Palace by the world-famous pianist and accompanist Malcolm Martineau, known for his numerous awards and performances in eminent halls around the world, and this particular recital, which is scheduled for July 31st, 2025 at 9:30 p.m., is already considered a prominent event of the season!
For the first time in Croatia, the 76th Dubrovnik Summer Festival will feature the Vienna Berlin Music Club, better known as The Philharmonix, whose performances combine classical, jazz, pop and swing – a combination that pushes boundaries and wins the hearts of all generations. The Philharmonix ensemble is composed exclusively of members of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics, and their first violin is the concert master of the Berlin Philharmonic! Recognized by Deutsche Grammophon, the most prestigious record label, these musical virtuosos guarantee an unforgettable experience with their infectious energy and incredible entertainment. The concert is scheduled for August 20th, 2025, starting at 9:30 p.m. in the atrium of the Rector's Palace.
