Barokkanerne is the leading Norwegian Baroque Ensemble with its outstanding artistic director, Jadran Duncumb, internationally acclaimed for his interpretations of Dowland and Bach. Founded back in 1989, the ensemble merged with Norwegian Baroque Orchestra in 2018 and consists of Norway's foremost singers and instrumentalists in combination with an international virtuoso star gallery of early music performers.

In recent years, Barokkanerne has performed at the Tage Alte Musik Regensburg, Stockholm Early Music Festival, Helsinki Early Music Festival, Georgian Concert Society Edinburgh, Nordic Lights Festival in Berlin. All’Improvviso in Gliwice, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza and Scuola Grande San Rocco in Venezia

In Norway, in addition to having its own concert series in Oslo, the ensemble has performed in the most prestigious arenas such as the Bergen International Festival, Olavsfest in Trondheim, the Arctic Arts Festival Harstad, the Oslo Chamber Music Festival and the Oslo International Church Music Festival.

Barokkanerne has recorded several acclaimed CDs. The latest, «The Norwegian Four Seasons» with Ragnhild Hemsing as soloist on Hardanger fiddle released in October 2024 (Berlin Classics)

2008: "Bellezza Crudel" - Vivaldi cantatas with soprano Tone Wik (2L),

2012: "Empfindsamkeit" - symphonies and concertos by CPE Bach

2015: "Totally Telemann" - orchestral music by Georg Philipp Telemann

2017: "Recordare Venezia" with recorder virtuoso Ingeborg Christophersen

2018: "Er heißet Wunderbar!" - Cantatas by J.S. Bach and his contemporaries.

In addition to having Jadran Duncumb as permanent artistic director, Barokkanerne collaborates with various outstanding performers as guest directors and soloists such as oboist Alfredo Bernardini, violinists Ragnhild Hemsing, Kati Debretzeni, Huw Daniel and Kinga Ujszászi, harpsichordists/conductors Alessandro De Marchi and Steven Devine, baritone Stephan Macleod, mezzo-soprano Marianne Beate Kielland and flutist Alexis Kossenko.
