Grigolo, Vittorio

TENOR

From a child soloist at the Sistine Chapel with the Schola Puerorum Cantorum to the most prestigious opera theaters in the world. Vittorio Grigolo is one of the most important tenors in the opera scene, with a career marked by unforgettable artistic encounters: age 13, he performed as the shepherd boy in Tosca at the Rome Opera House alongside Pavarotti. At 23, he became the youngest tenor to inaugurate La Scala under the direction of Maestro Muti. In 2010, he makes his oversea debute in La Bohème, becoming a new star of the Metropolitan Opera. His voice is described as an attractive, arden and supple instrument, that he wields to passionate effect (The New York Times). His career is continuously rising on the most prestigious stages. He has given numerous recitals and concerts, including the Concert de Paris under the Eiffel Tower for 800.000 people. He performs as Alfredo Germont at Zurich's central station and Nemorino at Malpensa airport. Big screen appearances include the Rai live broadcast, as the Duke of Mantua, produced by Andermann and directed by Bellocchio, alongside Domingo and Raimondi. His connections with pop and its great artists like Brian May, Sting and Lucio Dalla, are countless. Among the awards he received are European Border Breakers for his first solo album, Best Tenor 2011, ECHO Klassik 2011 and Opera News 2018. He has won Caruso Prize, Puccini Prize, Tiberini d'Oro, and Special Achievement Award from National Italian American Foundation. He received Distinguished Artistic Leadership Award from the Atlantic Council for his contribution towards strengthening the transatlantic relationship. His career is a story of talent, passion, and dedication.
