His recording of Shostakovich’s concertos (Delos International, 2007) was included in the soundtrack of Bridge of Spies, directed by Steven Spielberg, which won an Academy Award.

His latest album, Holberg Suite – Ballade & Lyric Pieces, was released in May 2024 on Hyperion Records.

In February 2024, Gugnin won the Dubai Classic Piano Competition, receiving a €100,000 prize for his final performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3. Additional awards include future engagements with the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra and the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
