Born in Croatia, bass Marko Mimica regularly performs at major theaters around the world such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, ABAO Bilbao, Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, Teatro Regio Turin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Arena di Verona and Teatro Massimo Palermo.
In the 2023/24 season, Marko performed in Il turco in Italia at Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, Nabucco at Teatro Regio Parma, Teatro Verdi Trieste and Wiener Staatsoper, Roméo et Juliette at ABAO OLBE Bilbao, Turandot and La Cenerentola at Gran Teatre del Liceu and La Gioconda at Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Recent seasons include appearances at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona (Raimondo), the ABAO in Bilbao and the Palau de les Arts in Valencia (Alfonso d’Este in Lucrezia Borgia), the Rome Opera (Alidoro in La Cenerentola), the Teatro Massimo in Palermo (Escamillo, Zaccaria, Jacopo Fiesco), the Florence Opera and the Royal Opera House of Oman (Mustafà in L’Italiana in Algeri), the Rossini Festival in Pesaro (Lord Sydney in Il viaggio a Reims, Il podestà in La Gazza ladra, Duglas in La Donna del lago), the Arena di Verona (Ramfis in Aida), the Teatro Regio in Turin and the Edinburgh Festival (Banco).
Engagements in the 2024/25 season include Macbeth at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Tristan und Isolde in Bilbao, Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Hamlet at the Teatro Regio in Turin, Simon Boccanegra at the Staatsoper Berlin.
