Davor Mojaš, born in Dubrovnik in 1952, is as a theatre director almost entirely tied to the Lero Student Theatre where he directed some sixty plays, twenty original projects, and dozens of stage programs since 1975, putting up works of great artists such as djela Chekov, Brecht, Šehović, Vvedensky, Rozewicz, Jarry, Držić, Beckett, Harms, Majakovski, Witkiewicz, Ivšić, Vojnović, Šklovski, Galczynski, Ionesco, Terentjev, Milišić, Cave, Lennon, Gučetić, Gleđević and many others, as well as his own original works since 1990. Mojaš has his plays performed regularly at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival and at other esteemed national culture festivals such as Split Summer Festival, IFSK, The Mediterranean Biennale, BRAMS, Young Theater Festival, Theaterfest, EUROKAZ, PUF, The Quarantine Festival, Actors’ Festival, Days of Croatian Theatre, and on international stages in London, Vienna, Bologna, Manchester, Coventry, Liverpool, Glasgow, Krakow, Cambridge, Kielce, Fiuggi, Thessaloniki etc. He collaborated with Kuntrata Theatre from Sveti Filip i Jakov on an original six play cycle, directed at Marin Držić Theatre, Croatian National Theatre Ivan Zajc and Teatrino, wrote screenplays and directed artistic events and other occasions. He is also a prolific author having published a collection of poems, several plays, memoirs, books of prose (Miris veluta, Stanje lune, Kazalište Isprazni, Trag miholjica, Viatik Conte Iva, Nesan Marina Držića), a graphic-literary map (Buđenja gospođe Roze with Rudolf Pater), and edited a monograph of the Lero Student Theater, published numerous literary, essay and non-fiction texts and feuilletons in Croatian magazines as well as prose and drama for the Croatian Radio. For 33 years he was a journalist and editor for the Croatian Radio in Dubrovnik. In 2017, he received the award of the City of Dubrovnik.
