The stages of the career of the Cuban Marialy Pacheco are impressive: she produced her debut album with Roberto Fonseca, the pianist of the legendary Ibrahim Ferrer (Buena Vista Social Club), and in 2012 she was the first woman ever to receive the Montreux Jazz Festival Award. Rightly so! Because although her enthusiasm for Ruben Gonzales, Oscar Peterson and Keith Jarrett can be felt in her own sounds: Marialy Pacheco conjures something very personal and very unique out of the piano.
Percussionist and drummer Rhani Krija, born in Essaouira/Morocco, is currently one of the most sought-after percussionists worldwide - in the jazz & world music scene as well as in rock & pop. As a teenager, he first dealt with the traditional musical styles of northern Africa, which still form the basis for his music and playing style today. Due to his musical diversity and range, he has the ability to play any style as authentically as possible, whether Andalusian, Arabic, African or Latin American rhythms. He is on tour worldwide with stars such as Sting, Prince, Dominic Miller, Herbie Hancock, Al Di Meola, Placido Domingo, Annie Lennox, Xavier Naidoo, or Herbert Grönemeyer.
