Sworn Virgin is a story of a girl Hana who decides to sacrifice her femininity to run away from a destiny of being a wife and servant in Albania. Hana becomes a “sworn virgin”; a woman who dresses, acts and even fights like a man but she has to give up love and never marry. After years of living as a man in a woman’s body, Hana’s life path leads her to Milan and she decides to reclaim the part of herself she has been neglecting for years. The film is an interesting story about an even more interesting phenomenon that is still not uncommon in Albanian culture and about breaking invisible walls that are sometimes harder than rock.
