In the visiting portion of the anniversary 75th Festival drama programme, the Dubrovnik audience will have the opportunity to see Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin and their latest production Waiting for Orestes based on Sophocles' Electra adapted by Lada Kaštelan and directed by Livija Pandur. Lada Kaštelan and Livija Pandur have often dealt with the great topics of our civilization in their previous dramaturgical and directorial work, and will continue so in this project. Clytemnestra and Electra, mother and daughter, are in an irreconcilable conflict. Their hatred is fed by mutual accusations, different interpretations of the same events, inability to communicate, inability to understand. And fear. A picture of today's world.

We would like to thank the Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquity for their help in the realisation of the programme.
