67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival Programme Presented
The 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival will take place from 10 July to 25 August 2016. During 47 festival days, more than 2000 artists from all over the world will take part in more than 70 theatrical, musical, operatic, ballet and folklore events in around twenty Dubrovnik site-specific venues, before an audience of 60.000 local and foreign visitors.
Tyson's Impressive Performance at the Festival
American pianist Andrew Tyson performed on Monday, 24th August in the Rector's palace atrium, for the first time at the 66th Dubrovnik summer festival. He played Gershwin's Rhapsody in blue in transcription for piano solo, Ravel's Mirrors, Barber's ''Excursions’’ for piano and Skrjabin’s nine etudes.
Ovations for the Piano „King'“
At the 66th Dubrovnik Summer Festival renowned pianist Ivo Pogorelić, with the Zagreb Philharmonic Chamber Studio conducted by Zoltán Kocsis, performed Frédéric Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, last night, 23rd August in the Rector's Palace Atrium. Béla Bartók’s Divertimento for String Orchestra and Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings in C major were also on the programme.
Famous musicians to perform Beethoven at the Rector's Palace
Renowned pianist Itamar Golan and violinist Guy Braunstein will perform Beethoven's symphonies on Thursday, August 20th at 9.30 pm at the Rector's Palace Atrium as a part of the Vip programme of the 66th Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
Two more performances of Linđo Folklore Ensemble at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival
Linđo Folklore Ensemble will hold two more performances at the 66th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, on Tuesday, 18 August, and then again on Saturday, August 22, starting at 9.30 pm at the Revelin Fort Terrace.
French chansons performed by Tereza Kesovija in Skočibuha Summer Residence
Tereza Kesovija accompanied by Ante Gelo on the guitar, Mladen Kosovec on the accordion and Filip Gjuda on the piano, will perform French chansons as a part of the programme "Evening Serenades" on Wednesday, 19th August, in Skočibuha Summer Residence on Boninovo, starting at 10 pm instead of 11 pm as announced earlier.
