Latica Anić, Krešimir Starčević and Marco Graziani perform together at the Festival

Date created: 05.08.2023.

Cellist Latica Anić, pianist Krešimir Starčević and violinist Marco Graziani will perform on Monday, 7 August in the Rector’s Palace atrium, performing a programme dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of composers Sergei Rachmaninoff and Blagoje Bersa.

Wanting to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of two great musicians, Anić, Starčević and Graziani decided to prepare a special concert programme composed of their piano trios. The concert will begin with an extraordinary Piano Trio in Classical Style, Op. 7 by Blagoje Bersa, after which two compositions by Sergei Rachmaninoff will be performed: the well-known Trio élégiaque No. 1 in G minor and the somewhat less performed Trio élégiaque No. 2 in D minor, Op. 9, which is considered one of the most difficult trios in the classical music repertoire.

Latica Anić (Zagreb, 1994.) graduated in Zagreb, in 2016. In April 2017 she won the 50th Darko Lukić Competition, for the recital she gave with pianist Krešimir Starčević at the Lisinski Small Concert Hall. Her recent notable performances include chamber music appearances in Germany and the Czech Republic. In 2018 she cofounded the Ostinato International Chamber Music Festival Omiš with pianist Lovre Marušić. Krešimir Starčević (Zagreb, 1988.) started playing the piano at the age of 12 at Franjo Lučić Art School, and later he attended masterclasses of numerous pianists and pedagogues. In recent years, he is getting attention for concerts with which he marks significant anniversaries of birth or death of a great composers. This year those are 150th anniversary of Sergej Rahmanjinov's and Blagoje Bersa's birth. Marco Graziani (Rijeka, 1988.) got his MA from the Zagreb Music Academy. As soloist and member of various chamber compositions he performs at numerous national and international competitions where he achieves remarkable results. He is the winner of the Ivo Vuljević award for overall artistic activity in 2014 and in 2011 he founded Croatian string quartet.
