Poco Loco Theatre tomorrow in Slavica open-air cinema

Date created: 21.08.2023.

To the delight of the youngest festival audience, tomorrow, 22 August at the Slavica open-air cinema at 7:30 p.m., the cheerful Poco Loco Theatre will perform a unique musical theatre show for the whole family, I Want to Sing a Song: Pocoloca Orchestra.

The six-member band will begin their performance with the song ‘Otključ, otključ’ or ‘Unlock, Unlock’, which will invite the audience on a playful musical journey with songs about beloved fairy tale characters, such as Little Red Riding Hood, Wolf, Three Little Pigs, Witch, Little Mermaid, Thumbelina, Ugly Duckling, Puss in Boots, and many others. It is a unique project where children are introduced to values such as bravery, honesty, and empathy through dancing and singing, while also having a crazy good time.

Poco Loco Theatre was founded in September 2014 and since then continuously gathers professional actors, musicians, directors, dramaturges, visual artists, and theatre pedagogues. The founders are multiple award-winning Renata Carola Gatica, director and actresses Maja Katić, Zrinka Kušević and Dunja Fajdić. The work of Poco Loco Theatre is financially supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the Kultura nova Foundation and the City of Zagreb – City Office for Education, Culture and Sports. Since 2016, the Poco Loco Theatre has regularly participated in the Ruksak pun kulture [Backpack full of culture] project of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, and in 2018 they were also nominated for the Croatian Theatre Award for the best acting performance in puppet shows or plays for children and young people (Jurica Marčec in the role of Cosmos in the play Superheroes).
