Weekend with ''Home Dwellers'' and ''Goga the Millipede''

Date created: 17.07.2020.

In cooperation with Caboga Stiftung, this weekend's guest performance of the City Puppet Theater Split brings the award-winning author's play by Ana Marija Veselčić "Home Dwellers" on Saturday,  July 18 at 21.30h and for the youngest audience, the play "Goga the Millipede" by Adrijana Grgičević on Sunday,  July 19 at 20.00h. Both performances will be performed in the atrium of the Postgraduate Center Dubrovnik (Don Frana Bulića 4).

The play for young people (16+) "Home Dwellers" is a story about invisible children for whom better options are possible than staying in children's homes, but while the system is being systematized, received, recorded, and processed, their childhood is on hold. Most of them reach adulthood when they go out into the world without any place to call home and start taking care of themselves. Home Dwellers are real and this is their story.

According to the latest data, there are about 800 children in children's homes in Croatia who, at the age of 18, and at best at the age of 21, lose the right to accommodation and care at institutions. This author's project by Ana Marija Veselčić was created as a graduate exam production at the Academy of Arts in Split under the mentorship of Professor Goran Golovko and was awarded the Croatian Acting Award for the best-premiered play.

The play for the youngest (3+) "Goga the Millipede" was created in co-production with the Poco Loco Theater based on the award-winning text by Andrijana Grgičević, and brings an honest story about Goga the millipede, a great fashion lover and shoe lover, who goes on a journey with friends after losing her shoes. There she will realize that only the one who is unladen by the material is free - poorer for a few fashion accessories, but richer for many friends.
