During nearly three decades of work in the field of finance, education and organisation of cultural events, Marin Kaporelo (Split, 1976) has earned the status of a prominent cultural organiser and promoter of musical life in Croatia.

He has led a number of successful initiatives and projects and was awarded the Order of Danica Hrvatska with the image of Marko Marulić in 2019 ‘for special merit in the preservation of Croatian musical cultural heritage, encouragement and affirmation of young Croatian artists and their promotion in the Republic of Croatia and the world.’ He earned a degree of Master of Public Administration from the Faculty of Law, University of Split, and started his career in the banking sector, becoming increasingly involved in the field of music. He served as president and organisational leader of the Cantores Maruli Association (2007–2016), external associate and lecturer of the Culture and Arts Management course at the Arts Academy, University of Split (2018/2019), coordinator of the Platform of Music Initiatives Split (2019–2020), director of the Jeunesses Musicales Split (2016–2020), and acting director of the Hrvatski Dom Hall in Split (2020–2023), which became a dynamic and modern concert venue under his tenure, hosting leading Croatian and European artists including Ivo Pogorelić, The King’s Singers, the Berlin Philharmonic String Sextet, Ivan Repušić, Núria Rial, Roman Simović, Katarina Livljanić, Edin Karamazov, Martina Filjak, Renata Pokupić, Valentina Fijačko Kobić, Ivana Lazar, Edicson Ruiz, Pavao Mašić, Matej Meštrović, Pavel Steidl, Ante Jerkunica, Lovre Marušić, Aljoša Jurinić, the Croatian Radio and Television Choir, the Papandopulo Quartet, the Ricercar Consort, the Croatian Baroque Ensemble, the Zagreb Soloists, the Virtuosos of Split, the Zadar Chamber Orchestra, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and many others. In March 2023 he was elected general secretary of the newly founded Croatian Association of Music Organisers. As an active musician, member and soloist of the Brodosplit City Choir, the Cantores Maruli Ensemble, of which he is the founder, and several klapa vocal ensembles, he has performed and won awards in numerous festivals, reviews and competitions (the Dalmatian Klapa Festival Omiš, the Guido d'Arezzo Competition, the World Choir Games etc.). Committed to promoting and preserving intangible cultural heritage, he authored and co-authored three multimedia projects: Adriatic Glagolitic Chant, The Story of Marko Marulić and Passion of Christ by Ivan Meštrović, the latter two of which were released as CDs (Verbum, 2012 and 2015). The Story of Marko Marulić won the Umjetnik Naroda Moga Award [My People’s Artist] of the Ivan Meštrović Museums for outstanding contribution to the preservation and promotion of Croatian cultural heritage (2012).

In January 2023 he was appointed Artistic Director of the Osor Musical Evenings by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, and in September the same year he assumed the position of Assistant Director in charge of production to the newly elected Artistic Director of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
