Original play “Beside Oneself” premieres on Tuesday
The play “Beside Oneself” is the first drama premiere of the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival with performances on 13, 14 and 15 July at 9.30pm at Lazareti and Komarda. An original project by Nataša Rajković, Ivan Penović and the play’s cast, “Beside Oneself” is produced as part of the Port of Dreamers project co-funded by the European Union Creative Europe programme – the Dubrovnik Summer Festival being their leading partner – and supported by HEP (Croatian Electric Company).
The 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival opened in Grand Ceremony
Last night, 10 July in front of the St. Blaise’s Church, the Libertas flag was raised to the verses of the Hymn to Liberty, formally opening the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival which will last until the traditional closing date of 25 August.
Percussion Club to start off the music programme of the 72nd Festival
Brilliant percussionists Ivana Kuljerić Bilić, Nikola Krbanyevitch, Francesco Mazzoleni and Luis Camacho Montealegre who make up the Percussion Club will be opening the music programme of the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival on Monday, 12 July at 9.30pm in front of the Saint Blaise’s Church. Joining the quartet as guest percussionist is Karmen Pervitić.
Dubrovnik Summer Festival Council hold formal sitting
The Dubrovnik Summer Festival Council held a formal sitting in the Festival palace ahead of the Grand Opening Ceremony of the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival on 10 July. Led by Croatian Minister for Culture and Media dr. sc. Nina Obuljen Koržinek, in attendance were the city of Dubrovnik Deputy Mayor Jelka Tepšić and Deputy County Prefect Joško Cebalo, Council member Sanja Putica, as well as Festival leadership Executive Director Ivana Medo Bogdanović and Artistic Director Dora Ruždjak Podolski, with Assistant Artistic Directors for drama and music, Saša Božić and Tomislav Fačini respectively.
Group exhibition “Fortune Teller” by six female artists at Sponza Palace starting Sunday
Group exhibition “Fortune Teller” opens on Sunday 11 July at 9pm in the Sponza Palace atrium. Alongside pieces by artist and the exhibition’s curator Selma Hafizović, on display will also be works by Jagoda Buić, Iva Laterza, Dubravka Lošić, Rebecca Ribichini and Tanya Small.
The 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival opens this Saturday
With the traditional grand ceremony and raising of the Libertas flag to the verses of the Hymn to Liberty the 72nd annual Dubrovnik Summer Festival will open on Saturday, 10 July at 9pm in front of the St. Blaise’s Church. During the 47 days of the Festival, audiences will be able to enjoy almost 70 drama, music, dance and other performances on some 15 stages and site-specific locations in and around Dubrovnik.

As of today, the tickets for over 60 theatre, music, dance and other events featured at the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival are available online via the Festival website www.dubrovnik-festival.hr and ticketing service www.ulaznice.hr, and from the Box Office at the Festival Palace (Od Sigurate 1) every day from 10:00 to 18:00.
