Marin Maras was not even 11 years old when he gave his first solo performance with an orchestra – the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra n. He has since performed with Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra , Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, Zadar Chamber Orchestra, Zagreb Youth Orchestra and Ukranian National Academy Orchestra. Since an early age, he has been winning awards at numerous national and international competitions. He is Grand Prize winner of the International Violin Competition in Novosibirsk (Russia, 2007), as well as the winner of the prestigious Stjepan Šulek Award (Zagreb, 2009), Croatian Music Youth Organization name him the Best Young Musician in 2009, and in 2010 he won the City of Samobor Award at the International Competition for Young Musicians for the Best Performance of Croatian Composition (Dubravko Detoni: 22 per 2 in 2).
In 2012 he won the first prize in the Stefanie Hohl Competition organized every year by the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and in 2013 the fourth prize in the 10th International Vaclav Huml violin Competition in Zagreb.
Marin Maras has performed at numerous prestigious festivals, such as Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Samobor Music Festival, Musical Evenings in Šibenik, Osor Musical Evenings, Kiev Summer Musical Evenings, Cycle Virtuoso in Zagreb, Festival Next Generation Switzerland and Kissinger Sommer in Germany.
Due to many well received recitals in Croatia, Marin went on tour to the Spanish Balaeric Islands with pianist Petar Klasan. In the summer of 2014 he became the first violin of the Zagreb quartet, He also serves as concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra in Lichtenstein.
